ABOUT THE DETROIT LEAN BAND
The Detroit Lean Band is an experienced group of seasoned musicians with countless performances and recording session credits. Basically a Four-piece band consisting of drums, bass, keyboards and guitar. In addition, each member adds vocal harmonies to the performance. On special occasions, the Detroit Lean horn section augments the rhythm section by performing their horn arrangements found on the Detroit Lean CD as well as complimenting various other original and cover songs the band showcases.
The Detroit Lean Band's sound can best be decribed as a mix of the best elements of Soul, Pop, Funk, Blues and classic rock music. Members Kelly Mcguire, Larry Mitchell, Jack Baum and Albert Margolis have performed or shared stages with artists such as; the Eagles, Bonnie Raitt, Greg Allman, Dwight Yoakum, Rod Piazza, Linda Ronstadt, the Bellamy Brothers, the Meters, Screamin Jay Hawkins, James Brown, the Coasters, Asleep at the wheel, Janne Browne and countless other artists and famous musicians. As individual performers, the band's members have played at hundreds of small venues all the way up to some of the most famous concert and festival locations all over the United States, Europe, Australia, Canada and Asia.
The Detroit Lean Band is available for club dates as well as concert performances and recording sessions. Based in the Inland Empire and Orange County, the band is easily accessible to most any venue in Southern California. The band is equally adept at playing short 'opening act' type sets of all original music, concert length shows and multiple set same performance shows. Anything from full band instrumentation to stripped down "unplugged" more acoustic performances can be created. A complete "audiophile" grade sound system is available and can be provided by the band to the small and medium sized venues needing such equipment.

Slide detroit lean into your CD player, turn up that volume knob, kick up those wearied feet, pop open some liquid libations of choice or roll down your windows, put your elbow out, tap you foot and let the blue eyed soul waves float down the boulevard as the wind and guitar riffs hit your smiling face. However you recreate, I hope the detroit lean can be along side as it has been for me, like a best friend.
Many enjoyable singing, songwriting, knob twistin' & guitar jammin' hours went into this project over an eight month period. Great playing, hard work and inspiration among friends & family brought Detroit lean to life. I'm so proud of everyone. I'm proud of this album.
For those of you new to my music, detroit lean is my musical journey and homage back to some of my favorite ingredients in all the great Motown records, the Eagles, Bob Seger, Bill Withers, Wilson Pickett, Stevie Winwood, Edgar Winter, Tower of Power, Jack Mack & the Heart Attack, Bad Company and so many others. It is a new album and it has my spin on things for sure. C'mon & hop in, get behind the wheel, take a spin for yourself and I think you'll find yourself...Leaning!
